WaveWare to Demo Beta Version of WaveSync server/accelerator
at Comdex
SAN DIEGO, CA - November 9, 1998
WaveWare Communications, Inc., today announced that
it will demonstrate a beta version of WaveSyncTM at COMDEX in Las Vegas,
November 16 - 20. WaveSync is WaveWare's premiere enterprise synchronization
server product for the 3Com(r) Palm Computing(r) platform of connected
organizers. WaveSync enables the management of entire fleets of Palm handhelds,
offering such features as a sophisticated yet easy-to-use management tool
for fleet monitoring and control, support for shared databases, and strengthened
user authentication.
Harnessing its industrial strength power, WaveSync
is a truly scaleable server, supporting an unlimited number of users synchronizing
simultaneously with any number of existing or new third party applications.
WaveSync may be used as a functional replacement of Palm's HotSync/Network
HotSync, as it supports Palm API-compliant applications.
As an added benefit, WaveSync technology results
in synchronization speeds up to five times faster than Palm's HotSync(r)/Network
HotSync(r) and is the most effective sync solution available over high-latency
mobile links. WaveSync synchronization has been demonstrated over a variety
of communication media including dial-up modems, internet, cellular and
wireless data modems, and, of course, the cradle.
"We are very pleased with WaveWare's commitment to
enterprise handheld computing and continued support of the Palm Computing
platform," said Mark Bercow, vice president, strategic alliances and platform
development for Palm Computing, Inc., a 3Com Company. "By supporting Palm
API compliant applications, WaveSync becomes another viable synchronization
method for the Palm Computing platform."
